Twelve honest questions about how the training block actually went. The band tells you where you are; it does not tell you what to do about it. No training plan is generated here and none should be inferred, and the last question matters more than the other eleven: pain and injury belong with a qualified professional, not with a checklist and not with a race entry you have already paid for.
Why these areas
Long run history — the single most informative item, and the one people most often answer optimistically about a run they did some time ago.
Weekly volume consistency — consistency over months beats a heavy block after a gap, and the gap is where injuries come from.
Practice — fuelling, kit and logistics rehearsed at effort. New shoes and untested nutrition on race day are the classic avoidable failures.
Recovery — the part of training that actually produces the adaptation. Skipping it is not discipline.
Taper — including the psychologically difficult part where you do less.
Current condition — the override. Everything else is irrelevant if you are running through pain.
Read this before using the result
Everything here is self-reported and the result is not a clearance to race. A high band means the block looks consistent on your own account; it is not a medical opinion and not a prediction.
Pain, injury and any symptom belong with a qualified professional — a doctor, a physiotherapist or a sports medicine practitioner. No checklist, and certainly not this one, is a substitute for that conversation, and a paid entry is not a reason to skip it.
No training plan is generated and none is implied. This page will not tell you what to run, how far, or how to fix a gap. Coaching is a relationship, not an output.
The scoring is ours and crude — equal weights across twelve items, when current condition alone can override every other answer.
Event demands differ enormously. A generic checklist cannot know what your specific event, terrain or climate requires.

None. These are the estate’s own words for common preparation practice, not guidance from any coaching system, governing body or published protocol, and no claim of predictive validity is made. For anything involving pain, injury or a health condition, the authority is a qualified professional who can examine you.
