Canada runs an unusually employment-led immigration system: most permanent routes either require or strongly reward a job offer from a designated or nominating employer. This page is arranged the way the search actually happens โ find who recruits internationally first, then work out which pathway that job can feed into.
Government of Canada services. The foreign-candidate and temporary-foreign-worker views of Job Bank are the ones that matter: they filter to employers already recruiting from outside Canada, rather than to every vacancy in the country.
Federal routes where the employer connection is the mechanism rather than a bonus.
The strongest signal available: employers that have formally applied to a programme and been designated by a province or community. They have told a government they intend to hire from outside Canada, which is a different thing from a vacancy that happens to be open. Each list is maintained by the issuing body, so it is the current source.
These lists are not job boards and being on one is not a vacancy. Approach the employer through its own careers page or contact route. Lists change as designations are granted and expire โ check the date on the file you open. Where a community publishes no roster, its own pilot page is linked instead; several communities are served only by consultancy write-ups, which are not linked here.
Every province and territory, each with its own programme page plus the federal settlement page for that jurisdiction. Eleven run a Provincial Nominee Program; Quebec selects its own economic immigrants and does not take part; Nunavut has no PNP.
Each community sets its own designated-employer list and recommendation requirements, so the community's own page is the operative source rather than a national one. Boundary maps matter: eligibility depends on working inside the drawn area.
One of these community domains still carries the RNIP name. RNIP closed on 31 August 2024; treat the community as an RCIP participant and check the date on anything you read there.
A separate permanent-residence route through six designated Francophone communities outside Quebec.
Getting hired and getting licensed are two different problems. Immigrant employment councils address the first; credential recognition the second.
Employers and authorities that recruit internationally in specific occupations.
Ordinary Canadian job boards. Useful, but they list every vacancy, and most employers on them are not set up to hire someone without existing work authorisation.
Filter carefully for international eligibility. If you do not yet hold a Canadian work permit, Job Bank's foreign-candidate view above is the better starting point.
Regional and sector resources from the same research pass.
Directory of official and semi-official sources, compiled 2026-08-26. Links are to the issuing body wherever one exists. This page states no eligibility, processing time or fee, and is not immigration advice โ rules change, and the issuing authority is always the current source.
Your own government runs the register of licensed recruiters, the emigration clearance and the welfare fund that apply before you leave. Those pages are written from that side.
