Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals — EU regulation governing chemicals and their safe use.
The regulation’s official title is itself a summary of what it does: “Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 December 2006 concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH), establishing a European Chemicals Agency…”. The acronym is the four procedures, and the same act created ECHA to run them.
