Find where your product sits in the Harmonized System: keyword-filter the 21 sections and chapters 01–97 of the WCO nomenclature, then confirm in the official tariff databases. A guide, not a legal ruling — only a customs authority can fix a classification.
The HS numbers chapters 01–97 (chapter 77 is reserved for future HS use); chapters 98–99 are reserved for countries’ national use. International codes run to 6 digits, with national lines beyond that — 8 digits in India’s ITC-HS, 10 in the EU TARIC and the US HTS.
Describe the product, its material and its use — for example “what part of the HS covers frozen peeled shrimp, export packed?” Treat any answer as a starting point and verify it in the official classifiers above before you declare anything.
The nomenclature is the World Customs Organization’s: WCO · WCO Trade Tools. National tariffs: ICEGATE · CBIC · DGFT · EU TARIC · US HTS. Nothing is fetched from any of them: the 21 sections and 97 chapters are held in the page and filtered in your browser.
