International standard for food safety management systems throughout the food chain.
ISO 22000:2018, “Food safety management systems — Requirements for any organization in the food chain”, second edition, published June 2018. ISO describes it as an international standard that “specifies the requirements for a food safety management system (FSMS)”, designed so that organisations in the food chain “can consistently provide safe products and services”. The phrase any organization in the food chain is deliberate — it reaches growers, processors, packaging makers, transporters and caterers alike, not only food factories.
