FTA records 8 India trade-agreement records

Eight India trade-agreement records, researched from official sources, August 2026

Eight India trade-agreement records, each rendered from official sources with every figure numbered to a citation. Three are firmly in force (EFTA TEPA, Oman CEPA, MERCOSUR PTA); one is in force but under active review (AIFTA); one is in force but institutionally dormant (SAFTA); one runs across four separate instruments with four separate statuses (Thailand); and two are status records, not agreement records — India–Israel is under negotiation with no agreement yet, and India–Egypt has no trade agreement at all, with the old spine’s CECA claim uncorroborated across seventeen sources checked.

How these records are built

Each record is rendered from a JSON research file, not written freehand: every sourced fact carries an inline citation number, every figure that comes from more than one series is shown as separate labelled series rather than averaged, every place two sources disagree is recorded as a disagreement rather than silently resolved, and everything that could not be sourced is listed as a gap rather than left unmentioned. Status badges read: IN FORCE (the agreement is operative), REVIEW UNDERWAY (in force, with a formal modernisation review still open), DORMANT (in force on paper, but the institutional machinery around it is frozen), NEGOTIATING (no agreement yet, active talks), NO AGREEMENT (no agreement and no formal talks), and MULTI-INSTRUMENT (more than one legal instrument governs the relationship, each with its own status).
